SLICP

The State Land Information Capture Program (SLICP).

The SLICP is designed to reduce cost and avoid duplication in spatial data capture across the state of Western Australia by planning, recording and acquiring the information through one channel to ensure the most strategic use of resources.  The program runs annually (by financial year - July 1 to 30 June cycle) and is scheduled eighteen months in advance due to significant planning overheads.

Data captured through the SLICP can range from aerial photography, topographic data, satellite imagery, bathymetry, LIDAR, infrastructure, to 3D surveys, soils, ortho-imagery and any other type of spatial data required.  The data requested through SLICP provides an opportunity to drive decision making on important issues such as climate change, planning, mining and health.

Landgate has both simplified the SLICP process and is seeking to expand the capabilities and funding of SLICP to address the future needs of the state’s land and spatial information.
