ANZLIC Profile

Pick lists

GA hosts this site on behalf of ANZLIC because of the technical details of the Document Type Definitions.

  • The ANZLIC pick lists are available from http://www.ga.gov.au/anzmeta/.  Follow the hypertext links "Controlled vocabularies" => "/anzmeta/anzlic-theme.lst" and "/anzmeta/anzlic-qualifier.lst" for the ANZLIC theme keywords and qualifiers.

Mapping

The ANZLIC Metadata Profile is intended to facilitate efficient access to descriptions of information resources, and in particular geographic (or spatial) data. http://www.anzlic.org.au/mg/

The ANZLIC Metadata Profile adopts established Australian/New Zealand and International Standards. Widespread use of the Profile will facilitate interoperability within and between agencies and jurisdictions, both within the region and internationally, by providing a consistent basis for communicating information about resources.

ANZLIC Metadata Profile: An Australian/New Zealand Profile of AS/NZS ISO 19115:2005, Geographic information - Metadata (implemented using an extension of ISO 19139:2006, Geographic information - Metadata -XML schema implementation) (the Profile).

General Metadata Links

Some of this could be useful for us when preparing documentation (especially business case for metadata), and promotional material. Please note, the States are yet to adopt ISO 19115. The FGDC is currently leading the development of a US Profile of the (ISO) international metadata standard, ISO 19115.

Documentation

These links lead to implementation manuals for Australian Government Locator Service (AGLS) Metadata. These AGLS Metadata implementation manuals could be of use as models or comparisons as we prepare the documentation for the ANZLIC ISO Metadata Profile
