WALIS member agencies are those who have signed the WALIS Charter.  

Alinta

As Western Australia's Principal supplier and distributor of natural gas to customers in Perth and other major regional centres, Alinta sells and distributes natural gas in competition with electricity, solar energy, wood, LPG and fuel oils.  For further information visit the Alinta website at http://www.alintagas.com.au/

Department for Planning and Infrastructure

The Department for Planning and Infrastructure (DPI) works to enable land use, transport, the environment and the community to be planned and managed together, based on a shared vision of hwo we would like to live.

Department of Agriculture and Food

The Department of Agriculture and Food provides leadership and strategic service (in partnership with industry and rural communities) to maximise agri-industries' contribution to Western Australia's sustainable development.  Core business includes:  generation, integration and application of knowledge and technology; provision of policy development and advice to government; management of statutory obligations which meet the needs of industry, community and customers; and the provision of research, development and information services to agriculture, food and fibre industries and the community.  For further information, please visit the Agriculture and Food website at http://www.agric.wa.gov.au

Department of Environment and Conservation

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) provides conservation and management services to the WA community that include: conservation and management of land, ecosystems and species; protection of ecosystems and forest resources from fire, disease, feral predators and pests; rescue of stranded marine mammals; management of national, marine and conservation parks; conservation of nature reserves; and the preservation of State forests for conservation, recreation and tourism.  For further information, please fisit the DEC website at http://www.calm.wa.gov.au

Department of Water

The Department of Water's key roles are in resources assessment and allocation.  The also have strong environmental protection powers to ensure sustainable use of resources for responsible development.  The Department also provides services to the Environmental Protection Authority which is an independent statutory authority.

Department of Fisheries

Fisheries Western Australia is the agency responsible for managing the State's fishing and pearling industries.  Fisheries WA manages the State's aquatic biological resources to an ecologically viable level, works to minimise adverse human impact on the aquatic environment and assigns access to aquatic biological resources in accordance with community priorities.  For further information, please visit the Fisheries website at http://www.fish.wa.gov.au


Department of Health

The Department of Health (DOH) manages the State's public health services by developing and evaluating public health policies and resources. Department of Indigenous Affairs

The Department of Indigenous Affairs (DIA) provides advocacy and support for Aboriginal people in Western Australia by helping them to access services and facilities that are generally available to the community at large, coordinating the operations of mainstream agencies that provide services to Aboriginal people, and supporting the interests of Aboriginal people in matters of land, heritage and culture.  For further information, please visit the DIA's website at http://www.dia.wa.gov.au

Department of Industry and Resources

The Department of Industry and Resources (DoIR) advances the responsible development of industry and resources for the benefit of Western Australians.  DoIR help to create jobs and prosperity through sustainable development, boraden the State's economic base and protect the community and the environment.

Department of Justice

The Department of Justice provides a diverse range of services to the Western Australian community which include: managing adult and juvenile offenders; providing non-judicial support services, technical facilities and accommodation to State courts and tribunals; providing support, assistance, advice and counselling to victims of crime; providing legal services to Government and its agencies; registering births, deaths and marriages; and providing information and support to the Parole Board and Supervised Release Review Board.  For further information, please visit the Department website at http://www.justice.wa.gov.au

Department of Main Roads

Department of Treasury and Finance

Fire and Emergency Services Authority

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) provides the Western Australian community with a comprehensive range of fire and emergency services, including the provision and maintenance of suitable infrastructure, equipment, skilled personnel and strategies to effectively respond to emergencies; evacuation, search and rescue operations; assistance to people affected by major emergencies to recover from the event; and community education to minimise the potential and incidence of fire and other safety hazards.  For further information please visit the FESA website at http://www.fesa.wa.gov.au

Landgate

Landgate, formerly the Department of Land Information (DLI), is the agency responsible for Western Australia's land and property information.  The agency will maintain the State's official register of land ownership and surveying information and also manage land and propertly valuations in Western Australia.

WA Electoral Commission

The Western Australian Commission (WAEC) is responsible for the conduct in WA of State Elections and Referenda, Local Government Postal Elections and Referenda and Industrial and other elections and referenda.  The WAEC also maintains the electoral roll for use in State and Local Government Elections, conducts research into electoral matters and other matters that relate to the function of the WAEC and promotes public awareness of electoral and parliamentary matters.  For further information please vist the WAEC website on http://www.waec.wa.gov.au

Water Corporation

Western Australian Local Government Association

The Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) is the peak organisation of local government in Western Australia.  Through its member Associations WALGA represents all local governments in Western Australia and provides a united voice for them.

WALGA exerts a strong influence on how policy decisions are made that affect local government.  It operates at the highest level in consulting Ministers, politicians and senior bureaucrats on an ongoing basis.  For further information please visit the WALGA website at http://www.walga.com.au

Western Australian Museum

The major responsibilities of the Western Australian Museum are: to preserve significant representative examples of Western Australia's heritage for the enrichment of present and future generations; to investigate the natural and cultural world; and to share ideas and information on natural and cultural heritage, through a variety of public programs.  For further information please visit the WA Museum website at http://www.museum.wa.gov.au

Western Australian Police

Western Power

With operations across the State, Western Power owns five major power stations and 26 smaller regional stations with a total capacity of 3280 megawatts.  Western Power operates and maintains all except one of the major power stations - Collie Power Station is privately operated and maintained.  Western Power's 794,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers are supplied through two major interconnected systems - the South West and the North West INterconnected Systems - as well as 29 separate systems in remote areas.  For further information please visit the Western Power website at http://www.westernpower.com.au

Tourism Western Australia

Tourism Western Australia is a statutory authority under the portfolio of the Minister for Tourism and is governed by a Board of Commissioners.  Responsible for promoting Western Australia as an attractive holiday, event, convention and incentive travel destination, nationally and overseas, Tourism Western Australia enhances the tourism industry, infrastructure and product base.

It's role is to grow the development of tourism as an industry and increasing visitation to and length of stay in Western Australia, which is done through the following five major strategic objectives:

  • increase awareness, desire and visitation to Western Australia's iconic tourism and experiences
  • enhance visitor experiences
  • grow regional tourism
  • attract additional strategic public and private investment
  • achieving recognition for the tourism industry as a leading economic and sustainable contributor to the state
