Strategic Plan
The WALIS Strategic Plan for 2007-2010 was endorsed by the WALIS Executive Policy Committee on Wednesday 29 November 2006. The WALIS Strategic Plan outlines the direction in which the public sector will be moving in relation to the management and provision of geographic information in the years to up 2010 and beyond.
The WALIS Strategic Plan 2007-2010
The vision of WALIS is “Seamless access to WA spatial information, from anywhere, for any use, by anybody,” with the underlying intent to build on the State’s capability to develop and apply spatial information to maximise the potential of the Western Australian economy and improve government decision-making.
Through adherence to this strategic plan, the WA Government intends to ensure that:
-
Adequate and appropriate spatial data is available;
-
There are skilled people who can plan, implement and apply spatial information;
-
Appropriate technologies are used to manage, deliver and use spatial information; and
-
Due recognition is given to the strategic relevance of spatial information.
It is important to recognise that WALIS is a collaborative framework and all WALIS member agencies contribute to achieving the WALIS outcomes.
